Events for Youth and Children

Youth Synod

Youth Synod, is a time where young people aged 15–25 years old from around the Diocese have the opportunity to gather, discuss and help shape the future work of ACYM and the Diocese. Each year ACYM invites all parishes and Anglican schools in the Diocese to send one male and one female representative (where appropriate) to attend Youth Synod. We will publish this year’s theme and venue closer to the date.

Equip is a one day conference for young people aged 15–25 years old to help them gain skills in how to share their faith in a way that makes a difference to the people around them. Inspire is for young people aged 15–19 years old who are keen to explore what leadership in their local parish context might look like. Inspire will consist of 8 sessions, with an opportunity to serve at a Diocesan event, and a graduation ceremony later in the year. The program will primarily be delivered by Mark Davis along with the help of guests. The sessions will run weekly on Tuesday evenings. Participants will learn more about the main themes of the Bible, how to facilitate discussions and share talks, as well as gaining experience in spiritual disciplines.
A small charge covers the cost of dinner each week, a handbook, the graduation ceremony, and certificate.

Dates for the second half of 2020 to be announced
$50 per person (this one-off cost covers all 8 sessions)
